- Defective: Irregular distance of the perforated number from the upper edge of the pages. In most passports 10mm but in others from 4 to 12 mm. The number not on a parallel line from the upper edge (oblique line) and some digits have extra perforation holes, mostly digits 3, 5, and 2.
